This test, which is primarily looking for signs of Coronary Artery Disease – a silent killer – involves walking on a treadmill while the Doctor increases the speed and incline until a safe maximum heart rate is achieved.

It is more accurate and informative than solely using a Resting ECG as many patients with Coronary Artery Disease can have a normal Resting ECG, but a higher pulse rate through exercise reveals signs of the potentially fatal condition.
