Based in Edinburgh, Dr Stuart was a partner in the South Queensferry Medical Practice for 32 years, and involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as a GP trainer for 20 years. He was elected FRCGP in 2002, and awarded an MBE in 2009. Dr Stuart has had a long association with occupational health medicine, acting as medical advisor to several blue and white collar companies. He has developed a particular interest in primary prevention of disease and has put this emphasis squarely into the thrust of health screening in Edinburgh. Dr Stuart is also a Director of Heart and Stroke Scotland.
