Alan was previously a GP at Ferniehill Surgery in Edinburgh and has many years’ experience working with occupational health providers nationally and locally. He has been the lead Occupational Health Physician to the Scottish National Blood Transfusion service in Edinburgh and the South East of Scotland since 1993.  

Alan also has a special interest in the assessment and management of cardiovascular risk, coupled with the promotion of general physical and mental well-being, and is experienced in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Alan is a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine.
